How it pays
mada at home, international rails when you leave it
Your card carries two sets of rails, and it picks the right one on its own. You never have to think about which is which.
When you pay a merchant inside the Kingdom, the payment is authorised and settled over mada, the Saudi national payment network. When you shop with a merchant based overseas or pay in a foreign currency, the same card runs on our international scheme partner instead, so it's accepted at around a hundred million merchants worldwide.
Either way, the record that comes back to your app is the same: the merchant's name, the category they trade in, and where the payment was taken — city and country. That's what turns a line on a statement into something you can actually recognise.
In the Kingdom
Groceries in Riyadh, fuel in Dammam, a coffee in Jeddah — all cleared over mada. No foreign exchange, no added percentage.
Online and overseas
International storefronts, subscriptions, hotels and anything you tap on a trip run on the international scheme automatically.
Nothing to switch
One card number, one PIN, one balance. The rail is chosen at the till, not by you.
In your hands
The controls that usually need a phone call
Everything below lives on the card screen in the app. Nothing takes more than a few seconds, and nothing needs an agent.
Freeze and unfreeze
Left it at the restaurant? Freeze it. Every payment, withdrawal and online charge stops instantly. Found it in the car? Unfreeze and carry on — you don't need a new card and you don't lose your standing payments.
Contactless, and on your phone
Tap the card, or add it to Apple Pay on iPhone and Apple Watch, or mada Pay on Android. Adding it takes two taps in the app and works before the plastic even arrives.
A virtual card for online
Generate a separate card number for internet shopping and subscriptions. Delete it any time and your physical card keeps working. Handy for the free trial you'd rather not forget about.
Limits you set yourself
Move your per-transaction and daily ceilings up or down whenever you like. Lower them before you hand the card to someone, raise them for the week you're buying a sofa.
Told the moment it happens
A notification lands as the payment is authorised, not the next morning. If you didn't make it, report it from the same notification.
Switch off what you don't use
Turn off online payments, overseas payments, ATM withdrawals or contactless individually. A card that only does what you need it to do is a much smaller target.

No more guessing
Every payment arrives with its name on it
Nobody should have to work out what "SA*RYD 4471 POS" was supposed to mean three weeks later.
The merchant's real name, the way you'd say it out loud — not a truncated acquirer code.
The category they trade in, so your month sorts itself into groceries, fuel, eating out and the rest without you tagging anything.
Where it was taken — city and country, on a small map when the merchant has a fixed address.
How you paid — chip, contactless, Apple Pay, mada Pay or the virtual card — plus the original currency and rate on anything foreign.
Limits
Set your own ceilings
These are the defaults we give a new card. Every line can be lowered to zero or raised up to the maximum from the card screen in the app, and the change takes effect immediately.
| Type of payment | Per transaction | Per day | Maximum you can set |
|---|---|---|---|
| Contactless, no PIN In-store tap under the threshold |
SAR 300 | SAR 1,500 | SAR 300 per tap |
| In-store with PIN Chip or contactless above the threshold |
SAR 20,000 | SAR 30,000 | SAR 50,000 per day |
| Online and in-app Physical or virtual card number |
SAR 10,000 | SAR 15,000 | SAR 30,000 per day |
| Overseas payments Merchant outside the Kingdom |
SAR 10,000 | SAR 20,000 | SAR 40,000 per day |
| ATM withdrawal, Kingdom Any mada machine, no fee |
SAR 5,000 | SAR 10,000 | SAR 20,000 per day |
| ATM withdrawal, abroad SAR 25 plus the operator's own fee |
SAR 4,000 | SAR 8,000 | SAR 12,000 per day |
Daily limits reset at midnight Riyadh time. Contactless taps are capped by the national scheme rules, so 300 riyals per tap is the ceiling for everyone — above that the terminal asks for your PIN.
Spending abroad
One rate, one percentage, printed on the receipt
When you pay in a currency that isn't riyals, we convert at the mid-market rate on the day and add 2.0%. That's the whole charge. No separate handling fee, no worse weekend rate, no surprise three days later.
If a terminal abroad offers to charge you in riyals instead, say no and pay in the local currency. That offer is the merchant's own conversion, and it is almost always worse than ours. The app tells you the rate we used on the transaction itself.
Worked example
A EUR 100 hotel deposit in Rome, on a day when the mid-market rate is 4.0500.
Mid-market rates move through the day. We use the rate at the moment the payment is authorised and show it on the transaction.
If your card is lost or stolen
Freeze it first — open the app, tap the card, tap Freeze. That stops everything immediately and you can undo it if the card turns up. If you're sure it's gone, order a replacement from the same screen and the number on the old card dies the moment the new one is issued. Your Apple Pay and mada Pay setup moves across automatically, so your phone keeps working while the plastic is in the post.
Can't get to the app? Call us on 920 000 471. Someone picks up at any hour, including during Eid.
Card questions
The things people ask us most
Within five working days almost everywhere in the Kingdom, and usually three in Riyadh, Jeddah and the Eastern Province. You'll get a notification when it ships and another when it's out for delivery. The virtual card is available the moment your account is approved, so you can pay online and add the card to your phone the same day.
Yes, but it takes one tap. Open the app, tap the card, and confirm the last four digits printed on it. You'll be asked to choose a PIN at the same time, and you can change that PIN later from the same screen without visiting anything.
Your first card is free, and so is the automatic replacement when it expires. A replacement you request yourself — lost, stolen or damaged — costs SAR 30, taken from your account when the card ships. If the card was compromised in a fraud case we've confirmed, there's no charge at all.
Yes. We'd suggest putting recurring subscriptions on the virtual card rather than the physical one. If you ever replace the physical card, your subscriptions keep running on the virtual number instead of failing one by one — and if you want a subscription to stop being able to charge you, deleting the virtual card is the fastest way to do it.
Usually one of four things: the balance, one of your own limits, a control you've turned off — overseas or online payments, for example — or our monitoring holding the payment while it checks. The app tells you which one it was in the declined notification, and most of them you can fix yourself in about ten seconds.
If it was our monitoring and the payment really was yours, confirming it from the notification releases it and teaches the system something about how you spend.
Not yet. One Yusr Current account carries one card and one virtual card today. Supplementary cards are on our list, and the first thing they'll ship with is a proper set of limits and controls for the person holding them.
Your card is part of the account
Open a Yusr Current account and the card is issued with it — virtual straight away, plastic in the post.
